Avery Dennison Sustainable Advantage Portfolio Now Available in ASEAN
Wide range of sustainability-oriented products offered with no compromise in price or performance
SINGAPORE — Aug 23, 2022 — Avery Dennison Corporation (NYSE: AVY) today announced the launch of Sustainable Advantage, its portfolio of sustainability-oriented solutions, throughout the ASEAN region. Sustainable Advantage products are designed to help brands meet sustainability goals by employing packaging materials that consume fewer natural resources, cut carbon emissions, reduce waste, and build towards a low-carbon, circular economy. The ASEAN launch is the company’s latest effort to make Sustainable Advantage products available worldwide.
“Sustainability is no longer just a trend, but rather is now a way of life, in which each of us is equally responsible for taking the necessary action towards making our planet a better place to live,” said Kisslay Sharan, the Product Line Team Manager, ASEAN. “At Avery Dennison, sustainability is one of our eight corporate values and among our highest priorities. Sustainable Advantage is a testament to this, ensuring that we are helping to make not only our industry, but the industries we serve, more sustainable.”
Strict criteria for inclusion
To qualify for inclusion in the continuously expanding Sustainable Advantage portfolio, a product must meet one or more of several sustainability criteria. It must reduce material usage, contain recycled or renewable content, enable the recyclability, reusability, and compostability, or be responsibly sourced.
A number of Sustainable Advantage products aim to increase yields of recycled plastic through recyclability. The portfolio includes CleanFlake™ materials, which enable bottle-to-bottle PET recycling and also support for HDPE recycling of mono-materials. Already a well-known technology in the industry, CleanFlake™ is certified by the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) and is replacing many of Avery Dennison’s conventional film products as a standard, general-purpose solution. Other products in the portfolio are responsibly sourced. They include Forest Stewardship Council®-certified materials, and materials made from other renewable sources.
Ready for fast delivery
“Most products in the Sustainable Advantage portfolio are manufactured locally in ASEAN countries and ready for fast delivery”, Sharan noted. He added that the majority of the products in the portfolio are offered at price parity with comparable conventional products, and all offer Avery Dennison’s signature performance and reliability.
“As an industry leader, we ensure that we understand our ecosystem in the best possible way and offer an extensive list of innovative solutions that are future-ready—and ready to ship right now—to serve the unique needs of converters and brand owners throughout the region” said Sharan.
Part of a broader commitment to sustainability
The Sustainable Advantage portfolio is one step Avery Dennison has taken to meet its own sustainability goals, including goals to deliver innovations that advance the circular economy and reduce environmental impact in the company’s operations and supply chain.
