Our response to Covid-19
We're a global materials science company specializing in the design and manufacture of labels and packaging materials for virtually every industry. We work with converters, brands and designers to create innovative, sustainable and intelligent labels that protect, inform, decorate and engage. Many of our products play a key role within the supply chain of critical goods such as food, medical, health and hygiene, and safety
We have been closely monitoring the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic as it continues to spread across the world, and are taking steps to keep our employees and customers informed as the health crisis unfolds.
Our employees
The health and safety of our employees is our highest priority. We have corporate, regional and local crisis management teams in place actively monitoring, preparing and managing our Covid-19 response around the clock. In that regard, we have taken several strong actions, including:
- Suspending all travel to business-critical only.
- Mandatory self-quarantine measures for employees that are feeling ill.
- Limiting access to our sites.
- Conducting enhanced and more frequent cleaning services at all facilities.
- Encouraging employees to practice social distancing, proper handwashing and hygiene practices.
- Canceling participation at all physical meetings, both internally and externally.
- Requiring employees to work from home where possible.
Our customers
We are continuously updating our customers as the situation around COVID-19 in Europe is developing and we encourage them to virtually connect and engage with their usual Avery Dennison sales account manager or their customer service representative so we can manage and get through this challenging situation together. We are committed to doing everything practicable to continue our operations in a safe manner and to produce and deliver orders within the shortest possible time frame.
Our operations
Our business operations are being continuously adapted to mitigate potential impacts. We have policies and programs in place for disaster recovery and business continuity planning. The topics covered include threat and impact assessments, strategic plans, emergency response information, critical tasks and contingency procedures, inventory and equipment protection plans, and functional teams identified for handling an emergency. These business continuity plans are there to ensure the best possible operations for our customers even in a crisis situation.
The combination of our manufacturing footprint as well as our supplier network allows us to leverage capacity throughout Europe based on demand and local constraints. Our operations and supply chain teams are focused on optimizing our service, making use of our extensive network, including 6 manufacturing sites and 8 distribution centers across Europe.
However, in these exceptional circumstances, and despite our extensive pan-European network, we cannot guarantee that there will be no disruption over time. A great deal depends upon how the situation evolves. Again, please be assured that we are committed to doing everything practicable to continue our operations in a safe manner and to produce and deliver orders within the shortest possible time frame.
Our commitment
We are extremely proud of all our employees that are working on the front line to continue the production and supply of label materials for critical consumer and healthcare products. We are doing everything we can to support them to perform their job in a safe environment and to help our customers to meet the demands of their customers.
Our focused and capable teams continue to address this global health crisis, and we are prepared to navigate through these challenging circumstances with our Core Values (Integrity, External Focus, Teamwork, Excellence, Courage, Diversity, Sustainability and Innovation) at the forefront of everything we do.
We’re in this together. Be healthy, be well, be safe.
