Sustainability is top of mind for the beauty community, with a rising demand for products that are sourced and produced with minimal environmental impact. Package design plays an important role in sustainable product development, offering multiple ways to reduce waste across the life of a product. EcoDesign practices can reduce the amount of materials used, can take advantage of recycled or renewable sources, and can select materials that enable convenient recycling post-use.
Avery Dennison’s commitment to sustainability has led to the development of paper, adhesives, and inks that provide a growing portfolio of label solutions that support EcoDesign without compromising on material look, feel, or print capabilities.
To inspire beauty brands and designers interested in sustainable packaging, Avery Dennison has teamed up with Mucho, a global branding agency, and Favini, the renown Italian paper mill, to launch the Zero Waste Beauty envelope.
The Zero Waste Beauty envelope offers a way to better understand the look, feel, print quality, and adhesion of sustainable solutions and see how design and materials come together to elevate a brand’s story. The envelope contains seven samples to peel and adhere to the packaging of choice. Featured materials include: CleanFlake™, Cotton Extra White, rPE, MarbleBase, rGranit, rPP, and PP195 reclosure.
Brands, designers, and other individuals curious about EcoDesign can receive a free Zero Waste Beauty envelope to explore the seven samples up close. The envelope can be requested on M_use, Avery Dennison’s designer community platform that focuses on “Materials in Use”. M_use connects designers, brands, and materials to drive more creative and forward-thinking label solutions.
