The Avery Dennison stand at Booth J84 at the Porte de Versailles exhibition center will feature label materials and adhesives for a wide range of products, including all-new offerings such as a luminescent top coat that allows the detection of the labels at dispensing as well as labels for application at extreme low temperatures making it possible to apply self-adhesive labels on primary packaging stored in frozen temperatures, down to -60°c.
Return to Paris
This is a return to Paris for Avery Dennison, which regularly exhibits at Pharmapack Europe.
“We have been exhibiting for the last 10 years at Pharmapack Europe, which we see as a key European exhibition focusing on packaging for pharmaceutical brands,” commented Jos van Noort, Global Senior Innovation Manager for Pharmaceuticals, who will be a member of the Avery Dennison team in Paris.
Regulatory compliance agenda
“This is a superb opportunity to reach out to healthcare brand owners and contract manufacturing CMOs who are seeking full compliance with industrial efficiencies,” said Mr. van Noort.
The team will also be displaying tamper-evident labels for carton boxes to co-incide with the impending introduction of the European Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD), along with small diameter labels for syringes, auto injectors, etc., intelligent labels for track & trace and TT Sensor Plus™ technology for temperature monitoring.
They will be offering real examples on stand of various applications, including labelling on syringes, folding boxes plus live demonstration of functionality for RFID identification and luminescent detection.
Luminescent top coat and cold chain adhesive
The new luminescent top coat is major step forward for automatic detection of package labelling, allowing detection by UV reader with top coat luminescence providing greater flexibility versus luminescent adhesives, across a wide range of qualified adhesives and films.
Avery Dennison’s new cold chain adhesive supports labelling applications down to minus 50°c, stored to minus 196°c. The product is designed to adhere to small diameters typical for cryogenic applications: test tubes, lab tubes, new molecules, and other frozen products used in pre-clinical trials, new molecule development, etc.
“With this new product it’s now possible to take product out of freezer and immediately label it,” Mr. van Noort, explained.
“Previously this was only possible down to minus 28°c, so this is a big improvement,” he added.
